The message composer supports all WhatsApp message types including text, media, templates, and interactive flows.
Sending a text message #
Type your message in the composer at the bottom of the conversation and press Enter or click Send.
Formatting #
WhatsApp supports basic formatting in messages:
- Wrap text in
*asterisks*for bold - Wrap text in
_underscores_for italic
Sending attachments #
Click the Attachment icon in the composer to upload images, documents, or audio files. WhatsApp supports JPG, PNG, PDF, MP3, and MP4 among others.
Using canned responses #
Type / in the composer to open the canned response picker. Search by name and click to insert.
Sending a template #
Click Send Template in the composer area, choose an approved template, fill in any variable values, and send. Templates are required when messaging a customer outside the 24-hour conversation window.
Sending a WhatsApp Flow #
Click Send Flow to send an interactive WhatsApp Flow to the customer. Flows are set up in your WhatsApp Business account and appear here once connected.
Emojis #
Click the emoji icon in the composer to open the emoji picker and insert emojis directly into your message.
