Baat vs Wati — an honest comparison

Wati is the most widely adopted WhatsApp platform in this comparison and the safer choice if that matters to you. Baat differs in three checkable ways: it documents Meta's WhatsApp Flows, it includes the Shopify integration in the plan rather than selling it as an add-on, and it reaches HubSpot at a lower tier.

Everything below about Wati was read from their own website on 18 August 2026, and every cell links to the page it came from. We make one of these two tools — read it with that in mind.

The honest part

  • Choose Wati if…

Choose Wati if adoption is what you are buying. It appears in more AI answers about WhatsApp automation than any other tool in this set, which reflects a larger install base, a longer track record and more people who have already solved the problem you are about to hit. If your procurement asks who else uses it, that question has an easier answer with Wati than with us. It also sells internationally rather than India-first, which matters if most of your customers are not in India.

  • Choose Baat if…

Choose Baat if WhatsApp Flows are part of your plan, if you want the Shopify integration without a separate line on the invoice, or if you want HubSpot without moving to the top tier. The first is the real difference: Flows are how you take a booking or qualify a lead inside the chat rather than sending someone to a web form, and we document them in full while Wati's feature pages do not mention them. Our entry plan is also priced for an Indian team rather than converted into rupees.

What is genuinely the same

Both tools give a team one WhatsApp number with a shared inbox, send broadcast campaigns to a contact list, offer AI agents, connect to Shopify and to HubSpot, and expose an API with webhooks. If your shortlist is Baat and Wati, you are not choosing between capabilities so much as between the packaging.

That is worth saying plainly, because comparison pages usually pretend the gap is wider than it is.

Where the packaging differs

Shopify. Wati lists the Shopify integration as a paid add-on. On Baat it is part of the Growth plan. If your store is on Shopify, that is a line on the invoice that exists in one case and not the other.

HubSpot. Wati’s HubSpot integration is available on their Pro and Business plans, with the AI conversation summaries reserved for Business. On Baat, HubSpot arrives with the Business plan. Which works out cheaper depends on figures you should read from both pricing pages rather than take from us.

Seats. Wati’s Growth plan includes three users, and their Pro and Business plans include five with additional seats charged per user per month. Baat gives three agents on Starter, ten on Growth and twenty-five on Business. If you are adding agents steadily, work out the total at the headcount you expect in a year, not today.

The difference that is not packaging

WhatsApp Flows are Meta’s native interactive forms — several screens of questions that open inside the conversation, with the answers arriving as structured data. They are how you take a booking, qualify a lead or collect a delivery address without sending someone out to a web form and losing half of them on the way.

We checked Wati’s feature page on 18 August 2026. It describes no-code chatbots, AI agents and campaigns, and does not mention Flows. We document them in full, including the Flow JSON structure and how to send one from a message template.

To be careful about what that means: it says what each company publishes, not what each company has built. A vendor can support something and never write it up.

How to decide

If you have no strong requirement either way, Wati is the lower-risk choice and we would rather tell you that than win an argument. If Flows are on your roadmap, if you are on Shopify and would rather not pay separately for it, or if you want a platform built for an Indian team first, try ours free for seven days and see which fits.

Frequently asked questions

Why is Wati's price not in the comparison table?

Because we could not map their prices to their plans with confidence from the outside. Their pricing page presents several tiers with billing options, and stating the wrong figure against a named company is worse than omitting it. Read their pricing page directly, then compare it with ours.

Does Wati support WhatsApp Flows?

Their feature page does not mention them. It describes their own no-code chatbot builder and AI agents, which are different things — a chatbot is a conversation, a Flow is a structured multi-screen form rendered by WhatsApp itself. That is a statement about what they publish, not proof of what they have built, and we will correct this page if they document it.

Is Wati bigger than Baat?

Yes, on every measure we can see. They appear in more AI answers, they sell in more countries and they have been at it longer. We are not going to pretend otherwise. The question worth asking is whether the specific things we do differently matter for how you sell.

Can I move from Wati to Baat?

Your WhatsApp number belongs to your business, not to either platform, so it can be moved. What it involves depends on how your number was onboarded, so ask us before you cancel anything — the sequence matters and doing it in the wrong order can cost you chat history.
