Features
Everything Baat does, in one place.
Baat is a WhatsApp platform for D2C brands. It gives your team one shared inbox on your own business number, broadcast campaigns, AI agents, automated journeys and a live connection to your Shopify store — all on Meta’s official WhatsApp Business Platform.
Six capabilities, four plans, one number. Everything below links to the page that explains it properly.
What Baat does
Each of these is a product page in its own right. This is the short version of all six.
-
Shared Inbox
Give every agent a shared view of every WhatsApp conversation, with assignments, internal notes and status tracking built in.
- Assign chats to agents or teams with one click
- Internal notes and tags for better context
- See who is typing a reply — no duplicate responses
- Full conversation history and search
-
Broadcasts
Send targeted WhatsApp campaigns to exactly the right contacts — personalised, scheduled, and tracked from first send to final sale.
- Segment by purchase history, cart value or location
- Schedule campaigns or trigger them from Shopify events
- Approved WhatsApp templates with personalisation
- Delivery, open and reply analytics per campaign
-
AI Agents
Train an AI agent on your knowledge base, let it handle routine queries automatically, and hand off to a human the moment things get complex.
- Train on your knowledge base in minutes
- Handle FAQs, returns and product queries instantly
- Knows when to step back and loop in a human agent
- Customisable active hours and fallback flows
-

- Visual builder — no code required
- Trigger from store events or customer replies
- Branch on what the customer does next
- Add delays so a follow-up lands at the right moment

-
Order Confirmation & Tracking
Send automatic WhatsApp updates from order placed to delivery done — reducing support tickets and bringing customers back.

- Dispatch and delivery updates with a tracking link
- COD confirmation before an order ships
- Replies land in the shared inbox, not a no-reply void
Built on the official WhatsApp Business Platform
That choice decides what any tool in this category can and cannot do, ours included. It is worth understanding before you buy anything.
Marketing messages need an approved template. You cannot write a fresh promotional message and send it to a list. Meta reviews templates by category and rejects them for reasons that are often fixable, so we explain why templates get rejected and how to resubmit, and templates are managed from inside Baat.
Replies open a free 24-hour window. Once a customer messages you, your team can reply freely for 24 hours without a template and without a per-message fee. That is why the shared inbox and the campaigns belong in the same tool — a campaign that earns replies makes the support that follows cheaper. The full picture is in how WhatsApp pricing works now.
Opt-in is not optional. Meta requires customers to have agreed to hear from your business by name, and blocks and reports lower your quality rating, which lowers how many messages you are allowed to send. Volume is earned, not bought. See what counts as valid opt-in.
WhatsApp Flows are the native form. Several screens of questions that open inside the chat and return structured data — the right tool for a booking, a lead qualification or an address. We document what Flows are, their JSON structure and how to send one.

What Baat does not do
Every tool built on somebody else’s platform inherits its limits. Here are ours, so you find out now rather than in week two.
- Bulk messaging to a bought list. Not supported, by us or by anyone on the official API. Contacts must have opted in to hear from your business.
- Skipping Meta business verification. Your business documents go to Meta, and how long that takes is outside our control. Any provider claiming to bypass it is worth a second look.
- Absorbing Meta’s message fees. They are billed to you separately from your plan. We would rather show them than bury them in a bigger subscription.
- Unlimited sending from day one. Meta sets a per-number sending tier that rises as your quality rating holds. A new number starts low no matter which platform sends from it.
- Being the cheapest option in every case. If a free WhatsApp Business app on one phone still covers you, it is worth staying there — and we have written the honest version of that comparison too.

Frequently asked questions
Do these features work on my own WhatsApp number?
Yes. Baat runs on your business number on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, so customers see your brand rather than ours. Connecting the number is part of onboarding and needs Meta business verification, which is a step nobody can skip.
Which features are on which plan?
The table above is generated from the same plan data as the pricing page, so the two cannot disagree. In short: the shared inbox and broadcasts start on Starter, Shopify and the API arrive on Growth, and AI agents and Journey Builder are on Business.
Does Baat support WhatsApp Flows?
Yes, and we document them in full — the Flow JSON structure, how to send one from a message template, and what they are useful for. Flows are Meta’s own multi-screen forms that open inside the chat and return structured data, which is a different thing from a chatbot conversation.
Do I need Shopify to use Baat?
No. Baat works without any store connected at all if you sell another way. The store connection is what lets a message reference a real order or cart, so it makes the automation better rather than being required for it. Shopify is the store platform we connect to today.
Is there an API?
Yes, from the Growth plan. We publish the reference with error codes and the webhook payloads before you buy, so your developers can read the contract rather than take our word for it.
Are WhatsApp message fees included in these plans?
No. Your plan pays for the platform. Meta charges separately for each template message delivered, at a rate that varies by template category, destination country and volume. Every platform in this category works the same way.
