Salons, spas & fitness
WhatsApp for salons, spas and fitness studios.
Your clients book, reschedule and ask about packages on WhatsApp. Remind them before every appointment, renew memberships before they lapse, reward your regulars and win back the ones who stopped coming.
What does Baat do for salons, spas, gyms and fitness studios?
For salons, spas, gyms and fitness studios, Baat keeps clients coming back through WhatsApp. Appointments and classes get reminders clients can reply to, memberships and packages get a renewal message before they end, regulars hear about their rewards, and lapsed clients get a reason to return, all from one number your front desk shares.
A beauty or fitness business earns its money from repeat visits, and loses it quietly. A client who misses one appointment often does not rebook. A gym member whose membership ends without a reminder simply stops coming. Loyalty points sit unused because nobody tells the client what they are worth. Empty slots on a weekday afternoon could be filled with a message, but nobody has time to send one, and the front desk is busy answering the same price questions by phone.
How do salons, spas, gyms and fitness studios use WhatsApp?
Each of these runs on Baat today. Open one to see how it works.
Use case
Remind clients before every appointment or class
A reminder goes out the day before with the time, the stylist or trainer, and the branch. A client who cannot come replies to move it, so the slot can go to someone else.
Use case
Renew memberships and packages before they end
Members get a message before their membership or package runs out, with what they have used and how to renew. Renewals stop depending on someone at the desk remembering.
Use case
Tell regulars what their rewards are worth
After each visit, send the client their points or visit count and what it unlocks next. A reward the client can see is a reward that brings them back.
Use case
Win back clients who stopped coming
Reach clients who have not visited in a while with a message that has a reason behind it, such as a new service or their usual stylist's free slots.
Guide
Fill quiet slots with a timely offer
Schedule a broadcast for a slow weekday to clients who opted in, offering the open slots. Replies come straight to the front desk to book.
Example conversation
A lapsed client, rebooked in two messages.
A client who has not visited in two months gets a reminder with a real reason to come back, and books by replying. The front desk sees the booking in the shared inbox.
- Shared Inbox: Every branch's front desk works from one number, with each client's history and preferences beside the chat.
- Broadcasts: Offers for quiet slots and new services go to clients who opted in, segmented by branch or by the services they use.
- Journey Builder: Reminders, renewal messages and win-back replies run on their own, on a timing you choose.
Pooja Nair Online
- Hi Pooja, it has been about two months since your last hair spa. Meera has free slots this Thursday and Saturday. Would you like one? 12:10 PM
- Oh yes, I was meaning to book. Saturday morning? 12:31 PM
- Saturday at 11 AM with Meera at the Jayanagar salon is yours. You also have 400 reward points, which you can use on this visit. 12:32 PM
- Perfect, see you then. 12:34 PM
An example. The people in it are made up.
Automation
Lapsed clients come back on their own.
A journey starts when a client replies to a win-back message. It offers the open slots, confirms the booking, and passes the client to the front desk if they want something different.
- Client replies to a win-back message
- Send the open slots for this week
- Client picks a slot
- Send the confirmation with stylist and branch

Why do salons and gyms use WhatsApp?
Because their clients already do. Most clients would rather send a quick message than call during a busy afternoon, and they read WhatsApp messages far more often than email. A reminder that arrives on WhatsApp is seen. A client can reply to it at once to confirm or move the booking.
For the business, every booking and every change arrives in writing. The front desk does not lose a booking on a sticky note, and two people do not book the same chair or the same trainer twice.
What should a salon or studio automate first?
Start with reminders. A missed appointment is a lost slot and often a lost client. A reminder the day before, with an easy way to reschedule by replying, turns many no-shows into moved bookings.
Next, renewals. Gyms and studios that sell memberships and packages lose members who simply forget to renew. A message before the end date, with what they have used and how to renew, keeps the habit going.
Then loyalty and win-back. Tell regulars what their points are worth after each visit. Reach clients who have not come in for a while with a real reason to return, such as their usual stylist’s open slots, not just a discount.
How do you fill empty slots?
Slow weekday afternoons are hard to fill by phone. A scheduled broadcast to clients who opted in can offer the open slots in one message. Replies reach the front desk, which books them in the same conversation.
Can services be sold from a WhatsApp catalogue?
Not on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Meta’s Commerce Policies name salon, spa and fitness services among the services that cannot be offered through catalogues there. You can still describe your services, share a price list and book clients in the conversation.
What do WhatsApp's rules mean for salons, spas, gyms and fitness studios?
- Meta's Commerce Policies do not allow personal wellness services, such as hair, nail, spa and salon services, or fitness services, such as gyms and trainers, to be offered through catalogues on the WhatsApp Business Platform. Book appointments and sell packages in the conversation instead.
- Meta's Commerce Policies do not allow ingestible supplements, including protein powder and vitamins, to be sold through commerce content. Cosmetic procedures such as dermal fillers and Botox are also not allowed.
- Message only clients who agreed to receive WhatsApp messages from you. Reminders for an appointment they booked are expected. Offers and win-back messages need their opt-in.
